This application is for delegates seeking certified status after completing BSI’s Internal Auditor Professional qualification or an approved equivalent.
Available across our full range of ISO management system qualifications, this final step offers the opportunity to have your Professional Auditor qualification certified. Achieving certified status demonstrates your ability to apply the knowledge and skills gained in both practical and professional settings.

Upon successful completion, you’ll receive the Certified Professional BSI Mark of Trust, which you can share with your professional network.
How does it work?
A Certified Professional certification is the next step in recognizing and building upon your accomplishments in the Auditor qualification pathway. There are no additional training or assessment components required to achieve Certified Professional certification.
To qualify, you must have completed an Auditor Professional qualification and conducted at least three internal audits.
Certified Professional certificate is valid for three years, after which you will need to reapply to maintain your certification.

- Those with extensive experience in internal and/or lead auditing
- Those involved in auditing, maintaining and/or supervising of a management system.
Prerequisites
The prerequisites to become a Certified Internal Auditor Professional are as follows:
- A BSI Internal Auditor Professional qualification or equivalent (all equivalents need to be submitted and approved as RPL (Recognized Prior Learning by BSI)
- At least three internal audits conducted within the last three years from date of application.
- A feedback form completed by a line manager/audit client for the most recent audit.
How do you apply?
To apply, please complete the following:
- Enroll in Certified Professional Internal Auditor Qualification Submission and pay the application fee.
- Complete the application form, detailing your auditing experience and training. Include all required documents and submit everything to msamericas@bsigroup.com
To maintain your certification, you must submit an annual declaration confirming that you have completed at least 15 hours of relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD) each year to uphold your Certified Professional status.
