Hazardous chemicals can be safely manufactured and/or handled when appropriate systems are in place to manage them. The minimum requirements for such systems are outlined in the OSHA PSM regulation and the EPA RMP rule. Compliance with these regulations helps companies protect their employees, minimize financial risk, and improve overall environmental, health, and safety performance. Having systems in place is just one part of the compliance equation; having knowledgeable employees is the other.
Although both regulations have been around for several decades, the employees who are most familiar with them are beginning to retire. This loss of compliance knowledge is a serious issue that must be addressed. This virtual training class provides an opportunity for less experienced employees to get up-to-speed quickly on 1) the requirements of both regulations, 2) the compliance challenges that these regulations may present, and 3) the enforcement practices that continue to evolve. Each class is taught by experienced PSM/RMP consultants with over 25 years of compliance experience.
Topics include the following:
- History of PSM and RMP
- Minimum Requirements
- Regulatory Drivers
- Enforcement Practices
