Course Details
The BRCGS Standard for Agents and Brokers Issue 3 is a globally accepted certification for agents and brokers operating in the Food Sector. This course is designed for agents and/or brokers, and those trading with them, to understand the scope and requirements of the standard, the audit protocol and certification process.
Course aim
The aim of this 1-day course delivered by BSI, is to ensure that company personnel using the BRCGS Global Standard for Agents and Brokers Issue 3 have an in-depth and practical understanding of the format and requirements of the Standard, in preparation for their audit.
How will I benefit?
Successful completion of this course will assist agents and brokers in demonstrating competency and understanding of this BRCGS Standard, in preparation to be audited against the BRCGS Agents and Brokers certification standard.
What will I learn?
By attending this course, you will:
- Know the scope of the standard requirements, understand which companies may be certificated to the standard, and what products are applicable
- Understand the format and structure of the requirements of the standard
- Be able to identify what is needed to comply with each requirement
- Know how to prepare for an audit to the standard
- Be aware of the scope and duration of an audit
- Understand the procedure for closing out corrective actions on non-conformities
- Be familiar with how an audit will be reported and how companies will be certificated

How will I learn?
The course is led by an experienced tutor, who will guide you through practical exercises to consolidate your learning. Our tutors are BRCGS Approved Training Partners (ATPs) who train auditors, sites, consultants and retailers to BRCGS requirements and protocols.
What will I gain?
Upon completion of the BRCGS Agents & Brokers Sites Course with BSI, you will be awarded with a BRCGS certificate of attendance, if successfully passing the post-course exam you will awarded with a certificate of achievement
Prerequisites
Before the course, delegates must have read and reviewed a copy of the standard, which is available as a free download from the BRCGS Store https://www.brcgs.com/store/
Please note: You’ll be undertaking live, web-based search activities, so you will need to bring along your laptop, tablet or smart device.
Further information
Delegates will need to enroll on BRCGS Educate after registering for this course, to enable them to receive the BRCGS Academy certificates.
Course Materials
Soft Copy: You will receive an email prior to the course with instructions on how to access the online Student Handbook, which can be viewed, downloaded or printed.
NOTE: Copies of the standards are not included in the class fee.
BSI will make reasonable efforts to have loaner copies available for use during the class, but students are encouraged to have their own copy. Soft copies of the digital loaner standard cannot be printed or downloaded.

- ALL course times shown are US EASTERN TIME.
If your class is In-person :
- You are encouraged to bring a laptop with you to class.
- Please bring a picture ID such as a driver's license, passport, or work badge to class for verification purposes.
