Course Details
This course will give you a detailed understanding of the key terms, definitions, requirements, and guidance of ISO 37106:2021 Guidance on establishing smart city operating models for sustainable communities.
Course Aim
This course will give you an overview of the concepts and principles of ISO 37106, focused on defining a ‘smart operating model’ for cities and city authorities. Focused on supporting developing a city vision, the course will effectively dissect the core principles and process required to be able to develop smart city practices, focused on managing governance, services, data and systems across the city in an open and collaborative way. Underpinned by digital processes, smart city operating models are effectively a way to ensure that a city authority can define ways to ensure that people – ‘the citizen’ is at the heart of all city activities and functions.
This training course is targeted to all of those involved in either establishing strategy, or supporting a strategic approach toward city leadership, all of which is required to support the impact of the future against our city requirements. Without strong leadership the implementation of a Smart City operating model fails and with this there needs to be a clear focus and processes in place to enable this to happen.
A smart city is effectively focused on enabling a greater future for those who live, work and inhabit a city and should be part of the future requirements and vision of those who reside within it There should be a focus on resilience and change, offering support to government to enable more informed and intelligent links to services, structures and citizens.
You’ll gain a thorough understanding of ISO 37106:2021, key terms, definitions and the ISO standardized high-level structure. You’ll learn to interpret and apply the key concepts and principles of the standard together with an awareness of other related companion guidelines in this series.
