Overview

Your organization has just had a reportable accident. One of the critical steps in the follow-up will be the Root Cause Analysis (RCA). How your organization responds in the aftermath of an accident determines whether the incident is a hiccup or the end of an organization’s great safety record. As with all ISO Standards, conducting a cause analysis is not only required, it’s the most important tool you can use to determine the cause and strengthen as many weaknesses as possible. A well-executed root cause analysis can reduce the lingering impact of the incident and lower the probability of future mishaps.

We’ll look into how to create a ‘process approach’ that you can use to do an RCA for health and safety. These steps can be used to uncover the cause of an incident and make your Occupational Health and Safety Management System stronger to get you on the road to creating a ‘Health and Safety Culture’.

Key takeaways and learning objectives

In this educational webinar you’ll learn:

  • RCA methods and how they work
  • How to use these models to identify contributing issues
  • Next steps After we’ve discovered a potential cause, what’s next?

You can never eradicate all risks and hazards, but a good root cause analysis will fuel your risk management activities so you can strengthen your OH&S Management System and sleep better.
