Overview
Corporations around the world are recognizing their role in managing their impacts, both positive and negative, that result from their business operations and value chain. In addition to increasing shareholder and customer demands, companies are facing greater disclosure requirements related to their environmental and social impacts. The EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) is the regulatory disclosure requirement that is the most expansive and likely to drive rapid adoption and greater scrutiny of company sustainability practices and reporting. In the first of this five-part series, Ryan Lynch and Shanayia Munoz will provide an introduction to the Directive, an overview of what is required to conduct a Double Materiality assessment, and observations on best practices related to disclosure topics throughout the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
