a qualification from an internationally recognized standards institute.
This pathway is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills
required to achieve BSI’s prestigious Lead Auditor Practitioner qualification for the
ISO 45001:2018 standard. It consists of two sequential courses: ISO 45001:2018
Requirements, which provides an in-depth understanding of the standard's
framework; ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor, which focuses on developing auditing
and leadership skills to coordinate a team to assess compliance effectively.
Participants who complete both courses and successfully pass their respective
qualification exams will earn a practitioner qualification, symbolized by BSI’s
“Mark of Trust” badge demonstrating their advanced competency in leading
audits for the ISO 45001:2018 standard. This pathway is ideal for professionals

• Explain the purpose of an occupational health and safety management
system, of occupational health and safety management system standards,
of management system audit, of third-party certification, and the business
benefits of improved performance of the occupational health and safety
management system.
• Explain the role of an auditor to plan, conduct, report and follow up an
occupational health and safety management system audit in accordance
with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021, as appropriate.
• Plan, conduct, report and follow-up an audit of an occupational health and
safety management system to establish conformity (or otherwise) with ISO
45001, and in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021 where
appropriate.

internal audit activities within their organization, specifically those auditing
Occupational health and safety Management Systems.

How will I learn?

This qualification pathway is divided into two separate courses. The first course,
ISO 45001:2018 Requirements, will cover the ins and outs of the Occupational
health and safety standard, and provide an essential foundation for the rest of
your auditor training. The second course, ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor, walks you
through the auditing process from start to finish, leveraging case study to help
you apply your knowledge.

What will I gain?

On completion of the courses and after passing the two qualifications exams, you
will earn BSI’s ISO 45001 Lead Auditor Practitioner qualification, including BSI’s
Mark of Trust qualification badge, which you can share on your CV, emails, and
social media sites such as LinkedIn.
