The BSI Training Academy offers Qualification Pathways for those seeking to earn professional qualification from an internationally recognized standards institute.
This qualification pathway is aimed towards those who wish to demonstrate a deeper and thorough understanding of collaborative BIM for managing asset information, including its application to security-mindedness and health & safety. It consists of five sequential courses: BIM Fundamentals, BIM ISO 19650 Part 3: Information Management in the Operational Phase, BIM BS 1192 Part 4: Handover Information Exchange, BIM ISO 19650 Part 5: Security and BIM, and BIM PAS 1192 Part 6: Health and Safety. Participants who complete all five courses and pass the respective exams will earn a professional qualification symbolized by BSI’s “Mark of Trust” badge.

By the end of this qualification pathway, you will be able to:
- Explain the value of information through all stages of a project and asset lifecycle
- Explain why BIM is a determining factor for delivering projects on time and without waste and inefficiencies
- Explain how key ISO 19650 asset information management processes are applied during the operational phase of an asset’s lifecycle
- Explain how to formulate information requirements for the operational phase of an asset
- Explain how asset information is delivered and reviewed through CDE processes
- Explain how asset management information (ISO 19650-3) and project delivery information (ISO 19650-2) can be managed in parallel
- Use ISO 19650 Part 4 for information requirements and delivery documentation
- Understand the factors in choosing software, schemas and formats
- Check information exchanges
- Understand a specific information exchange such as handover and national conventions as examples
- Explain the types of security threat to and from built assets and their information
- Recognize security issues related to ISO 19650, CDE and BIM
- Define the role of security manager
- Explain the documentation and execution of policies required for security-mindedness
- The roles of the key participants in health and safety information
- Understand the relationship between PAS 1192 part 6 and other documents
- Understand the structure of the PAS
Who should attend?
Anyone adopting BIM Implementation into their organization, their own work practices, or helping their clients or supply chains to adopt it. Construction and asset management professionals (project managers, asset managers, designers, constructors, manufacturers, maintenance contractors, information managers).
Delegates entering for this qualification are likely to already have some industry experience of using collaborative BIM processes and/or tools, however this is not a prerequisite

How will I learn?
This qualification comprises five mandatory courses and assessments. Delegates who have successfully completed the BIM Project/Asset Information Practitioner qualification do not need to retake the BIM Fundamentals and BIM ISO 19650 Part 4: Handover Information Exchange courses and assessments. You must complete 100% of the qualification pathway within two years.
What will I gain?
On completion of the courses and after passing the five qualifications exams, you will earn BSI’s BIM Asset Information Professional qualification, including BSI’s Mark of Trust qualification badge, which you can share on your CV, emails, and social media sites such as LinkedIn.
Course Materials
Soft Copy: You will receive an email prior to the course with instructions on how to access the online Student Handbook, which can be viewed, downloaded or printed.
NOTE: Copies of the standards are not included in the class fee.
BSI will make reasonable efforts to have loaner copies available for use during the class, but students are encouraged to have their own copy. Soft copies of the digital loaner standard cannot be printed or downloaded.
Course Logistics
If your class is Live Online:
- Students need to connect to the class from any internet accessible location.
- Webcam and Microphone are REQUIRED.
- ALL course times shown are US EASTERN TIME.
If your class is In-person:
- You are encouraged to bring a laptop with you to class.
- Please bring a picture ID such as a driver's license, passport, or work badge to class for verification purposes.
*Session lengths could vary depending on amount of class discussion.
Further information
Delegates that complete the individual courses without passing the necessary qualifications exams will still earn receive certificates of attendance.
